  • 1 tbsp Vietnamese coffee grounds
  • 2 tbsp Sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 egg yolks (For egg coffee)

  • Boil water until it reaches 205°F (96°C), the ideal temperature for brewing coffee.
  • Preheat the coffee phin and cup by pouring hot water through them to maintain optimal brewing temperature and ensure a clean cup.
  • Discard the water from the cup.
  • Optional: Add 1-2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to the cup, adjusting the amount based on personal preference for sweetness.
  • Remove the filter from the phin.
  • Add 1 heaping tablespoon of Vietnamese coffee grounds to the phin.
  • Use the filter's press to gently tap down the coffee grounds, creating a flat surface for even extraction.
  • Place the phin on top of the cup.
  • Slowly pour hot water into the phin, covering the coffee grounds.
  • Allow the coffee to drip through the filter into the cup. This may take a few minutes.
  • Once all the coffee has dripped through, you can either sip it as is or give it a gentle stir to incorporate the condensed milk.
  • Sit back, relax, and savor the authentic flavors of Vietnamese coffee.
